La fotografia è sempre stata la mia grande passione. Ho iniziato a fotografare a 13 anni con una Nikon F di mio padre girando per le montagne che circondavano il mio paese e passando le nottate in camera oscura.
Con l’ inizio di una collaborazione con un giornale, ho cominciato ad appassionarmi di reportage e così sono cominciati i primi viaggi. Fotografo quasi esclusivamente con il grandangolo, perché sono convinto, come diceva Robert Capa, che se una foto non ti è venuta bene, vuol dire che non eri abbastanza vicino.
Poi con l’ evento del digitale il mondo della fotografia è cambiato molto, la nuova tecnica ha facilitato il compito del fotografo ma non il suo occhio e soprattutto la sua sensibilità che è la base per la realizzazione di una bella foto e di quello che deve trasmettere.
Il mondo è grande e il viaggio continua...

Photography has always been my passion. Already at the age of 13 I started taking photos with my father’s Nikon F. I made my first snapshots in the surrounding mountains and passed nights in the darkroom.
Collaborating with a newspaper I discovered my passion for reports and the first journeys began. I’m taking photos with wide-angle lens, because I agree with Robert Capa: for a good picture you have to be close to the object.
With the invention of the digital camera the world of photos has completely changed. Of course new technologies facilitate the work of photographers, but not the photographer’s eye or his sensibility, what is the basis to realize beautiful photos and to convey a message.

Fotografie war schon immer meine große Leidenschaft. Mit 13 Jahren habe ich mit einer Nikon F von meinem Vater zu fotografieren begonnen. Meine Schnappschüsse entstanden damals in den Bergen in der Nähe meines Heimatortes, die Nächte danach verbrachte ich in der Dunkelkammer.
Durch die Mitarbeit bei einer Zeitung entdeckte ich meine Leidenschaft für Reportagen, wodurch ich meine ersten Reisen unternahm. Beim Fotografieren verwende ich vor allem ein Weitwinkelobjektiv, weil ich, wie Robert Capa, der Meinung bin, dass man für ein gelungenes Foto einfach nahe genug am Objekt sein sollte.
Mit der Erfindung der Digitalkamera hat sich die Welt der Fotografie grundlegend verändert: Die neue Technik hat zwar die Arbeit des Fotografen erleichtert, nicht aber sein Auge und seine Sensibilität verändert. Beide sind jedoch die Basis für die Verwirklichung eines guten Fotos und das, was der Fotograf damit ausdrücken möchte.
